With the holiday season officially wrapping up here soon, it’s time to start thinking about setting yourself up for success in the New Year by making some resolutions. Creating resolutions is a time-honored tradition that can help you get your new year off to a great start and what better way to start your new year than with a clean and organized home? In today’s blog, we’re going to cover some of the best New Year’s resolutions that you can utilize in order to help keep your home looking and feeling great all year long.
This one is great, especially when starting out during Christmas break or right after New Year’s Eve. Rather than dedicating an entire day or weekend to cleaning your house each week, why not cut that down to just 10 or 15 minutes a day? You can start your coffee maker in the morning and while your cup of black gold is percolating, you can be doing a quick floor sweep or loading the dishwasher, or taking out the trash around the house. If you set a timer at a certain time each day and just go as hard as you can for 15 minutes, then you can use your weekends for what they are designed for: relaxing!
Sure, getting things clean on a daily basis really helps, but sometimes you need to spend some real time getting things cleaner than your average daily pass can do. Make it a resolution to deep clean key areas at least a few times a year. This includes baseboards, grout, carpets, upholstery, and hard-to-reach spaces that daily cleaning misses.
Professional residential cleaning services are especially helpful for deep cleaning tasks that require specialized equipment or expertise. We are happy to help you clean your home or office anytime you’d like! Just give us a call and we can get you scheduled.
Here’s a thought: if the item is no longer in your house, do you still have to clean it? The answer is no! The fewer things taking up valuable space in your home means the fewer things you have to clean and declutter. Consider setting a timer for about 1 hour this time and grab a storage bin or box and a trash can. Go through each room in your house and quickly evaluate all of the items in those rooms. Do you want to keep them, donate them, or toss them in the trash? Put the “donate” items in the box and trash the rest. If you can do that about 3 or 4 times a year, then your house will be looking better than ever!
