Cleaning your house can take a long time, but keeping your house clean doesn’t have to. Sure, you could dedicate some of your valuable weekend time to cleaning your home from top to bottom over the course of several hours, but wouldn’t you rather be spending that time relaxing or hanging out with friends or enjoying your hobbies? In today’s article, we’ve put together a fantastic guide to help you maintain a clean house with only 15 minutes of work each day so that you don’t have to sacrifice your valuable weekend time scrubbing floors and windows. This will allow you to be less stressed throughout the week and help you to enjoy more of your time off.

Here Is The Full Routine Breakdown

Set a timer. When the timer ends, you are done. Try to stick to that so you don’t end up biting off more than 15 minutes each day, but if you need or want to, then that is fine as well. Go at your own pace!

Minute 0–3: Quick Reset and Declutter

Start by resetting the space you live in most.

Put away items that are out of place, such as shoes, bags, jackets, toys, and dishes. Toss junk mail and gather items that belong in other rooms. This step alone often makes the biggest visual difference.

Focus on surfaces that catch your eye when you walk into a room. Clear countertops, tables, and entry areas first.

Minute 3–7: Kitchen Touch-Up

The kitchen is usually the heart of daily mess, so give it focused attention.

Wipe down countertops and the stovetop. If there are dishes in the sink, load or rinse them quickly. Wipe the sink and faucet to remove water spots and food residue. Straighten items on the counter so everything looks intentional rather than cluttered.

This is not a deep clean. You are simply resetting the space so tomorrow’s mess does not pile on top of today’s.

Minute 7–10: High-Touch Surface Wipe Down

Move to surfaces that collect fingerprints, dust, and grime quickly.

Wipe light switches, door handles, cabinet pulls, and appliance handles. If you have time, hit the coffee table, dining table, or bathroom counter. These small areas affect how clean a home feels far more than people realize.

A microfiber cloth and an all-purpose cleaner are all you need.

Minute 10–13: Floors Where It Counts

Instead of trying to clean every floor, focus only on high-traffic areas.

Do a quick vacuum or sweep in the kitchen, entryway, and main living area. If you have pets, this step is especially important. Crumbs, dust, and pet hair build up fast, but they are also easy to remove in short bursts.

Skipping low-traffic rooms is intentional. You are prioritizing impact.

Minute 13–15: Bathroom Reset

End your routine with a quick bathroom refresh.

Wipe the sink and faucet, straighten towels, and do a fast wipe of the toilet seat and handle if needed. If the mirror has visible spots, give it a quick swipe.

This daily attention prevents soap scum, toothpaste buildup, and grime from becoming a bigger job later.
