Spring cleaning! It’s truly achieved mini-holiday status lately and is taking the U.S. by storm (especially if you’ve been watching the latest TikTok trends) this year. There is so much great spring cleaning focused content out there that it is difficult to narrow down the very best and most useful tips. Well, we have done just that! We present to you a curated list of the very best and most useful spring cleaning tips that you can add to your toolbox this year when you (eventually) get around to it.

Divide And Conquer (Or Clean!?)

Spring cleaning can seem daunting, and it pretty much is. The thought of cleaning your entire house top to bottom and organizing a year’s worth of clutter is overwhelming at the best of times. Well, what if we told you that you don't have to do everything all at once? The best way to tackle a huge project like spring cleaning is to segment the project into smaller mini-projects. Make it into more easily accomplished tasks and concentrate on those instead of worrying about doing the entire thing in a single marathon style day or weekend.

Start by dividing your tasks into three-hour segments. We recommend splitting each room into its own project. Once everything is segmented using a checklist or Google Sheets document, you can then start tackling your home room by room until the whole thing is done. We recommend splitting your entire spring cleaning project time over a single month or four week block of time. Maybe dedicate three hours every Saturday morning and three hours Wednesday evening for the month of March. That way, you don’t have to lose an entire weekend and you can block out your cleaning time in a more organized way. Give it a shot!

Always Clean Top To Bottom

One quick tip is to make sure that you are always cleaning from high to low. Start by dusting things that are high up like light fixtures and book shelves and work your way down. Same goes for showers and kitchen cleaning. Clean from top to bottom so you only have to sweep and mop floors once at the very end.

Know That “Clean Enough” Is Better Than “Not Cleaned At All”

Whether you’re scrubbing away at a tough bathtub stain or the cooking area around your burners just won’t come clean, it can be frustrating when you can’t get the thing up to a spotless shine. Well, just let it go. Don’t spend too much time on one single spot or area. Instead, just make sure it gets a good once over and move on to the next item on your list. If you have time later, then sure go back to it, but you can always save it until next time. Just getting a “pretty good” clean is much better than not having enough time to get through your whole project list before midnight.
