Winter is coming to a close (finally!) and we have so much good weather and fun activities to look forward to this year. With everything going on in the Treasure Valley this spring, it is hard to decide what fun family friendly activities to do. To help with that, we have compiled a list of great family friendly activities that you can put on your wish list this year.

Fun With Food!

Food is one thing that kids from 3 to 93 can enjoy and explore together. Why spend money on an expensive plane ticket when you can take your tastebuds on a culinary journey across the world without having to leave your zip code? Here are a few fun food venues for you to try this year.

Green Acres Food Truck Park

Just off the Greenbelt near Ann Morrison Park, the Green Acres Food Truck Park is really the place to be. They offer a wide variety of local food truck favorites as well as fun family friendly activities like (free) yard games, dog park and walk, and live music. Green Acres opens up on April 22nd this year. More information and schedules on their website. See you there!

Melt Food Truck

Do your kids like grilled cheese sandwiches? Do YOU like grilled cheese sandwiches? If you answered “yes” to one or both of those questions, then this next place is the place for you. Melt is a unique and dare we say deceptively simple food truck experience that your whole family will enjoy.

They offer a very simple menu: grilled cheese and soups. But, the grilled cheeses are made with artisanal hand selected cheese and the bread is made from scratch daily at the AMCE bakeshop here in Boise. The soups are all scratch made from locally sourced farm to table ingredients by local farms and dairies. Check out their full menu and locations on their website.

Great Indoor Adventure

We heartily recommend taking your little ones (under 13) to Woodland Kids indoor playground for kids. This veritable wonderland offers a unique, safe, and educational play space for your children that they will want to enjoy over and over again. They can see live local woodland native birds (no tapping on the cage, though!), and they can play with a full “kitchen” stocked with kid friendly food and toys or they can take a cute wooden bug shaped cart around the center track for some good exercise and exploration. They even have a treehouse reading area! Parents can enjoy free WIFI and tasty made to order coffee as well.

Great Outdoor Adventure

Starting March 1st, you can again reserve the party shelter at Sandy Point Beach at Lucky Peak state park. Sandy Point is a great place that you can take the whole family for a fun and relaxing day by the beach where you can do everything from building sand castles to swimming to frisbee golf. They recently set up a curated 18 hole frisbee golf course that is free to use! You can also rent paddleboards for some fun on the water during the warmer months. Check out their website for more details.

In Conclusion

Let us know if you did one of these activities or tell us about one or two that we may have missed that you and your family enjoy. We can’t wait to hear from you. Give us a call or email us here. Have fun and stay safe out there!
